Students make valuable contribution to community

January 2nd, 2020 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Greenfield students have been supporting the community in a number of ways recently.

Students and their families have been raising funds for charity, providing food for local appeals and contributing to national initiatives to make a difference in Newton Aycliffe and Shildon.

Staff and students invited elderly members of the community to take part in a festive afternoon at the school.

The event was a great success with over 25 people coming along to enjoy entertainment and Christmas fayre, with refreshments served by the students.

Staff and students have also encouraged generous donations of food to support a local foodbank as part of the Trussell Trust initiative.

“The response from the Greenfield community has been exceptional, a big thank you to all involved in helping to make the community a brighter place,” said a school statement.
