Shower your community with support this October!

October 12th, 2022 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

A foodbank supplier for County Durham and Sunderland is supporting over 2,500 people each month – with an urgent need for donations of toiletries.

Feeling clean isn’t a luxury or a privilege – it can lead to a lack of confidence and negatively affect good health and mental wellbeing by impacting learning, employment and social interaction.

Newton Aycliffe-based charity, the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP), is appealing for donations of toiletries throughout October – as no one should go without basic personal care products.

PCP centre lead Gail Anderson (pictured above) said: “We want to respond to the current cost of living pressures and collect donations of essential hygiene products, but also remind people to only donate if they can.

“Foodbank suppliers are calling for donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, shower gel, hand wash, deodorant and toilet rolls.

“Donations will support communities in PCP’s service delivery areas of County Durham, Sunderland and the Tees Valley. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.”

Donations of toiletries can be dropped off at the Pioneering Care Centre (PCC), Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, DL5 4SF – with all donations to be provided to local foodbank suppliers before the Christmas period.

All donated items must be unopened and unused.
