Roman launches desk and reception shields amid Covid crisis

May 19th, 2020 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

Innovative Aycliffe manufacturer Roman has added new shields for desks and receptions to its portfolio of products to help local firms to tackle the Covid-19 crisis.

Many companies have re-opened recently or are planning to re-open soon as the UK economy hopes to bounce back from the coronavirus downturn.

And as firms look to implement safe social distancing for all staff and visitors, Roman has devised the new glass safety shields, which are being produced at its premises on Aycliffe Business Park.

Roman managing director David Osborne said: “We were keen to assist the efforts that have been highlighted of those manufacturing PPE in our own way; but with our materials and capabilities.

“Initially, we were developing these desk and reception shields for ourselves, but in doing so, we realised that so many businesses need them, too.

“Our fabrication plant is CNC cutting the Corian feet in volume now as so many of our customers have an urgent need for these as they build towards re-opening as safely as possible.”

The desk shields, priced £120 (including vat) are 1470mm long and 755mm high to offer protection around a standard desk height and width.

The reception desks (£100 inc vat) are designed for a raised reception desk and are 1500mm long by 490mm high.

Both products feature 6mm toughened safety glass, can be custom-made to measure and tightly fixed around the glass edges.

They can be ordered by emailing [email protected].
