PRIMARY SWIMMING OPPORTUNITIES AT WOODHAM

May 2nd, 2013 Martin Walker Community, News 0 comments 0

Swimming Pool

Year 5 and 6 students of St.Francis and Byerley Park primary schools have been busy enjoying swimming lessons in the pool at Woodham Academy this term.

As part of the lessons, students have been having a great time developing their water confidence skills and swimming techniques under the watchful eye of qualified swimming coach, Heather Brewster.

The sessions cater for all abilities of swimmer, from non and beginner swimmers, through to advanced club swimmers and have been set up to support one of the key requirements of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum.

This being, to ensure that all students can swim 25m by the time they leave primary school and make the transition into secondary education.

So far the sessions have been a great success and both staff and students are looking forward to the rest of the term!
