POLICE PROBE SAVAGE DOG ATTACK

May 7th, 2012 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

By Martin Walker

Police are appealing for information after a savage dog attack in the town.

A light brown, short-haired dog, described as a pit bull or mastiff terrier, viciously attacked another dog in the Whinlatter area at about 4.15pm last Friday (27th April).

“The offending dog was not on a lead and after the attack ran off towards the Burn, adjacent to Linden Place, leaving the other dog with serious injuries,” said a police spokesperson.

“We’re investigating this as a dangerous dog incident, and attempts are ongoing to trace the owner.”

Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Aycliffe Neighbourhood Police Team on the non-emergency number, 101.
