Police officers in Newton Aycliffe are investigating a double burglary on the town’s business park.

A business premise was broken into on the evening of Wednesday 25th April, when a number of items were stolen.

They then returned on Tuesday 1st May, taking a Mitsubishi Outlander.

In his latest blog on Aycliffe Today, NPT Sergeant Mark Edwards (pictured) says: “Overnight on Wednesday 25th April into early morning on the 26th, a business premises was broken into on Ridgeway on the Business Park – amongst the items stolen were two laptop computers, one a red Samsung make and the other a black ASUS model.

“The offenders had forced an alarm box off the wall before forcing a rear fire door allowing them entry.

“Earlier this week a male from the Newton Aycliffe area was arrested on suspicion of being involved in this crime. However, he has since been eliminated from the enquiry.

“During the burglary a set of vehicle keys were stolen and during the afternoon of Tuesday 1st May offenders have returned to the premises and a silver Mitsubishi Outlander ’56 registration was stolen.

“There are extensive CCTV enquiries that the team have been busy progressing.”

As usual, anyone with any information is asked to call 101.
