POLICE HUNT ‘PACK’ OF YOBS

February 3rd, 2012 Martin Walker Community, News 0 comments 0

By Martin Walker

Police are hunting a gang of yobs who viciously attacked a 14-year-old boy in Aycliffe and left him with a broken nose and cracked teeth.

And our local force is appealing for the people of the town to help identify the thugs, described as having a “pack mentality”.

A large group of young males followed their victim from the town centre before setting about him near the cut between Osric Place and Heatherburn Court.

Aycliffe’s Neighbourhood Sergeant Mark Edwards explained: “He’s been followed from the town centre area to the Osric Place and Heatherburn Court area.

“A large group of young males have followed the victim, who’s been set upon by the group in a kind of pack mentality.

“It’s quite a nasty assault, where the victim has sustained a broken nose, a couple of cracked teeth and extensive bleeding and swelling.

“We’d appeal for anyone who knows anything about this vicious assault to come forward.”
