Police appeal after Lockyer burglary

March 7th, 2016 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

Police are appealing for information after a property was burgled in Lockyer Close, Newton Aycliffe.

The burglary occurred between 8pm on Thursday 3th March and 7.30am on Friday 4th March in which suspects have accessed the property by an insecure back door and taken the occupants handbag and purse before making off from the scene via the front door.

PC Jamie Pitt from Newton Aycliffe Police said: “This appears to be an opportunist burglary in which the suspect has taken advantage of an unlocked rear door enabling them to enter the property and steal items inside.

“We would like to re-iterate to the local community to ensure their properties are locked and secured at all times and report any suspicious persons to police.”

Anybody with any information should contact PC 2687 Pitt on 101.

Alternatively you can contact the Independent Charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
