Police appeal after fatal A1 accident

August 10th, 2015 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

Durham Police would like to make an appeal for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision in which a motorist tragically lost their life.

The incident occurred on the A1(M) South bound carriageway, about one mile South of Junction J60 (Bradbury Interchange) at about 8.55pm on Saturday (8th August).

It’s understood that a 25-year-old male, from the Darlington area, was driving his Honda S2000 motor vehicle South on the A1(M) when for reasons yet to be established, the vehicle has left the carriageway to the nearside and come to rest on its roof. The driver was declared dead at the scene.

Durham Constabulary would like to speak with anybody who may have seen the collision itself, or the Honda motor vehicle prior to the occurrence of the collision.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Collision Investigation Unit or The Senior Investigating Officer, PC Wells, on 101, quoting reference DHM-08082015-0485.
