Police appeal after bike theft attempt

Police are appealing for witnesses after a male attempted to steal a pedal cycle from a front garden in Newton Aycliffe.

The incident occurred at around 1pm on Wednesday 13th July on Washington Crescent in which an unknown male has walked into the front garden of the address and taken the bike, which has then been dumped a short distance from the home address after the owner gave chase.

The male is described as white, male around 14-15 years old and around 5ft 5 inches tall. He is described as wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue Adidas jacket and grey Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

Anyone with any information should contact PC 2687 Pitt on 101.
