Physio firm servicing Aycliffe businesses

November 23rd, 2022 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

Aycliffe Physiotherapy wants to get more people moving by stepping up its work across the business community.

The clinic is situated in Langton Business Centre on Durham Way, and is under the management of Sarah and Glen Horsborough.

The business has been in Aycliffe for over 20 years and is focused on rolling out their services to more of the neighbouring organisations.

Aycliffe Physiotherapy already has a good working connection with nearby giants such as Hitachi Rail, Gestamp and Mitsubishi.

Sarah, the clinical director, said: “We want to grow and encourage other businesses on the business park to use us. We want to make their staff aware that we are here.

“We can work with all the businesses on the park, from workers in factories to those sitting behind a desk, or people who are working from home.

“We are currently treating a lot of home workers with postural pain and back pain from sitting on Zoom meetings all day!

“We have also helped manual workers who are picking up repetitive strain or lifting injuries”

Aycliffe Physiotherapy already works with occupational health departments within businesses to get members of the workforce back to work in a more strategic way.

The team consists of Sarah, Christine Birch and Shauny Brannan, who are all senior chartered physiotherapists, and Eleanor Hampton, who is a sports therapist. Its practice manager is Helen Ayre.

Aycliffe Physiotherapy offers a range of Pilates classes both during the day and on an evening.

It also works with the general public who can refer themselves due to the NHS waiting lists being so long.

Sarah added: “We are registered with BUPA, AXA, Nuffield, Simply Health and all the major health insurers.

“Even though we have been in Aycliffe for over 20 years, there are still many who don’t know we are here.

“We cover a broad range of musculoskeletal injuries. We aim to get people back doing what they love such as golf, cycling, running or just to be able to climb stairs.

“We have worked with semi-professional athletes, local football teams, and other sporting organisations. ”
