Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) has had its County Durham Volunteer Kitemark re-awarded by Durham Community Action (DCA), recognising the charity’s commitment to going the extra mile to support its volunteers by removing barriers and creating safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences for both volunteers and service users.
This achievement reflects the incredible contribution of PCP’s volunteers. Between 2024 and 2025, PCP’s 251 volunteers supporting services across the region gave a remarkable 9,502 hours of their time.
It provides an in-kind value of £143,670 of support based on the Real Living Wage Foundation benchmark.
PCP operations manager Vicky Browning said: “PCP’s volunteers bring energy, empathy, and a strong sense of community to PCP’s services, playing a vital role in delivering inclusive and person-centred support.
“We’re absolutely delighted to receive the Volunteer Kitemark once again. Receiving the Kitemark highlights PCP’s dedication to valuing volunteers as an essential part of its services and community impact.
“Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and this award reflects our ongoing commitment to making sure they feel supported, appreciated, and empowered. It’s a real testament to the positive culture we’ve built together.”
PCP continues to welcome volunteers across a range of roles and encourages anyone interested in making a difference to get involved. Find out more about volunteer opportunities at PCP at www.pcp.uk.net
