PCP prepares for Macmillan’s ‘World’s biggest Coffee Morning’

September 17th, 2019 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

The Pioneering Care Partnership in Newton Aycliffe is again taking part in this year’s hugely-popular fundraising coffee morning.

The PCP will be part of the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday September 27, 10am-1pm.

The Cobblers Hall centre will be filled with a range of freshly prepared tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits with plenty of room to mingle in the Garden Kitchen coffee shop; cake tastes sweeter with friends!

As well as tasty treats, people will be showing support with a wonderful selection of craft and gift stalls selling handcrafted items. Be part of this nationwide get together, have a nibble and a natter to help families affected by cancer.

PCP chief executive Carl Gaskarth said: “Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event is the annual coffee morning. We will all know someone who has been affected by cancer.

“There are around 363,000 new cancer cases in the UK every year, that’s one person diagnosed with cancer every two minutes.

“PCP hears many stories from the people we support about the excellent help and care Macmillan provides and we are proud to support this very worthy cause.

“Come along sample some cakes, enjoy a cuppa and help us to raise funds for Macmillan.”

PCP’s Cancer Awareness Team will be on hand to provide information and advice on the signs and symptoms of common cancers and the Macmillan Joining the Dots Team, which provides free, personal support for people aged 18 and over who have been diagnosed with cancer and their friends, carers and relatives.
