‘News and Brews’ men’s group launches in Aycliffe

A new ‘News and Brews’ social group for men is being launched at Woodham Community Centre.

The group – which will meet every Thursday between 9.30am and 11am – is for local males to meet and discuss news, views or simply catch up over a cuppa with friends.

The group is free and attendees will have access to free newspapers, tea/coffee or juice, men’s health information/activities and volunteering opportunities.

The Wellbeing for Life service provides support to people to live well in County Durham, by helping to address the factors which influence their health and build their capacity to be independent, resilient and maintain good health for themselves and those around them.

The wellbeing approach goes beyond looking at single-issue and instead aims to take a whole-person and community approach to improving health. The service operates within the 30% most deprived communities in County Durham making a difference to the individual and their sense of community.

The Wellbeing for Life Service are supporting and promoting the health and wellbeing of men in County Durham by offering advice to live well, by helping to address the risk factors which influence their health.

Wellbeing for Life runs courses in the community and Health Trainers support people on a 1-1 basis to enable people to be independent, resilient and maintain good health for themselves and those around them.
