New Year, New You! – new courses available at PCP

Health and wellbeing charity Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) can help you get your New Year off to a great start, with our range of physical activities, learning and volunteering opportunities for 2020 in Newton Aycliffe.

Our timetables of activities for January is bursting at the seams, with great activities that will help you stick to those New Year’s resolutions. To find out more and book a place please contact us on 01325 321234, unless otherwise stated.

Keep Learning:

Mindfulness with Rob Hawkes – Starting Tuesday 14 January
Fed up, wound up and stressed out after Christmas? Want to find new ways to cope? This course will help you to calm the mind, relax and improve your overall health and wellbeing. Cost £3 per session.

Introduction to Craft Techniques – Starting Wednesday 15 January for 6 weeks
Are you a budding crafter, but don’t know where to start? Open to anyone aged 19 and over, you can learn new skills and practice crafts for your wellbeing and relaxation. This course is free, however you will need your National Insurance number and proof of residency.

Develop Health Coping Strategies – Starting Monday 13 January for 5 weeks
Gain awareness and understanding of problem and emotion based coping as well as the importance of resilience. Learn proactive coping skills that will help your emotional resilience. This course is free to anyone in receipt of a means tested benefit, if not the course is £32.50.

Keep Active:

Tai Chi
A positive activity for any age, experienced martial arts tutor Steve Wilkinson will take you through a graceful form of exercise that supports mindfulness and wellbeing. Improving flexibility, balance and strength, this activity can reduce the risk of falls. Cost £5 per session.

Salsa and Latin Dance – Starting Monday 13 January for 6 weeks
Meet new people while learning a new style of dance in this fun and informal class. This class is open to anyone aged 19 and over and is free. Call Clare Thompson, North East Dance on 0191 5657270

Lets all Boogie – Starting Friday 10 January for 10 weeks
Get your little ones moving, with these free fun and informal singing and dance sessions, that will support development and confidence for children aged 18 months to 3 years old. Call Clare Thompson, North East Dance on 0191 5657270
