NEW ‘TO DO’ WEBSITE LAUNCHED

July 12th, 2012 Martin Walker Community, News 0 comments 0

A new website is making it easier for parents and their young ones to find out what’s on in the region with just one click.

Durham County Council’s Early Intervention Service are encouraging young people and their families to take part in positive activities and things to do together as a family and are making information more readily available in one website.

Paul McGinnerty, commissioning manager, said: “In this Olympic year everyone is looking for fun activities to keep them active and we found that families had a headache when it came to finding out what was available in County Durham and then had trouble working out how to get there.

“We’ve pulled all of the handy websites together to make the information, as well as transport links, more accessible with just one click.”

A range of useful sites supported by various organisations including the Area Action Partnerships, the Young Durham Facebook page and sports and culture clubs are listed as well as information on transport links to various towns and villages throughout our region.

To access the site log on to: www.durham.gov.uk/youngactivities
