New Learning courses at PCP

Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) works in partnership with high quality tutors and establishments to deliver a range of learning courses in the community.

Details of new courses coming soon to the Pioneering Care Centre in Newton Aycliffe are as follows…

Level 2 Equality & Diversity Monday 13th March, 5 – 7.30pm for 8 weeks.
Learn the value in creating and maintaining a diverse environment, the effects of stereotyping and labelling and how equality and diversity is monitored in the workplace.This course is free and delivered by Sunderland College

Level 1 Employability 20th 22nd 27th 29th March, 3rd and 5th April, 9.15am – 3pm.
Enhance your skills for the working environment by developing confidence and communication skills. Suitable for those in employment wanting a career change, facing redundancy and people who are unemployed.

Level 2 Health & Safety Tuesday 21st March 9.30-4pm.
Develop awareness of safety in the workplace including accident prevention, risk assessment and responsibilities of employers and employees.

Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment 10th, 11th and 13th April, 9.30am – 3pm.This qualification is for people wishing to apply for the CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Green Card. You will be able to understand key issues affecting safe working practices in a construction environment.

These courses are free and delivered by Durham County Council Regeneration and Local Services.

Level 2 Food Safety in Catering Friday 24 March 9am-4.30pm
Learn the importance of food safety and knowledge of the procedures involved. Understand how to control food safety risks (personal hygiene, food storage, cooking and handling) Gain confidence and expertise to safely deliver quality food to customers.

This course is delivered by Bishop Auckland College and are free if you are in receipt of some benefits; please ask when booking a place if you are eligible for free remission. Otherwise each course costs £17.50.
