NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP WEEK

February 8th, 2012 Martin Walker Business, News 0 comments 0

Help is at hand for people in County Durham who want to boost their skills and improve their job prospects.

To coincide with National Apprenticeship Week 2012, Durham County Council’s Adult Learning and Skills Service is reminding residents of the range of work-based training opportunities it can offer.

The list includes Level 2 and, in some cases, Advanced Level 3 apprenticeships in customer services, retail skills, business and administration, team leading, first line management, IT and health and social care.

All subjects include maths and English skills and some also include IT.

National Apprenticeship Week, which runs until Friday, aims to raise awareness of apprenticeships with potential trainees, employers and parents.

Apprenticeships are work-based training programmes tailored to meet employers’ needs. They combine the practical experience of the workplace with a nationally recognised qualification.

For more information about apprenticeship opportunities in County Durham email [email protected] or contact your local Adult Learning and Skills office on the following numbers:

North Durham: 03000 261 478
East Durham: 0191 586 2402
Central Durham: 0191 372 8496
South Durham: 03000 263 868
