NAFC Junior Section round-up

A round-up of football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Under 8’s – Played their last 5 v 5 league match against Pools Youth. A great game, with Aycliffe playing some brilliant football ball and showing some great skills and determination. The goals were scored by Lincoln and Reuben. MOTM went to Reuben for showing great resilience and hard work.

Under 8’s Reds – Faced Redcar Town Royals in a wonderful game of two halves. After a first half to forget, Aycliffe were superb in the second half. Kian scored three goals and was awarded MOTM. The opposition coach awarded Michael MOTM.

Under 8’s Whites – Played Belmont United Eagles, finding it tough going with a depleted squad. Cody was awarded POTM and Charlie was awarded parents POTM.

Under 10’s Reds – Played against Tibs, in what was a great game played by both teams. The goals from Andrew and Koa. MOTM was given by the opposition coach and was shared between Jenson and Andrew.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Prissick Rovers United, on a day when Aycliffe created numerous chances, it was JJ who did score with a lovely finish into the corner. POTM was awarded to Alfie S by opposition for never giving up and tireless running.

Under 11’s Blacks – Entertained Stockton and controlled the first half without scoring. Into the second half Aycliffe missed a few more chances and couldn’t get the goal they wanted. MOTM was Matty who made great saves at important times.

Under 12’s Blacks – Played against Winlaton Community, in their first game back after a break from games due to the weather, Aycliffe were prepared for a tough game having already met Winlaton this season. Aycliffe started off nervous and were under pressure, but eventually took control and went on to win 7-1. Goals were scored by Connor (3), Oliver B (2), Jake, and Jack. MOTM was shared between Connor for his hat-trick and Cody for his hard work in defence.

Under 12’s Juniors – Cup run came to an end at home to the top team in the TJFA Trimdon United. Aycliffe’s whole team were outstanding from start to finish, making Trimdon work for their win. The Opposition POTM went to Will, with the coaches POTM awarded to Daniel.

Under 13’s – Travelled away to play Grangetown. In a game dominated by Aycliffe, they come away with a tremendous 5-0 victory. Goals from Freddy (2), Layton, Jack, and Own Goal. MOTM was awarded to Freddy.

Under 14’s – Travelled to North Ormesby who were sitting second in the league and got a superb victory, running out 7-1 winners. Goals from Blake (4, Huey, Luke T, and Alfie.

Under 15’s Whites – Travelled to Guisborough but come home empty handed after a 2-1 loss. Trailing 2-0 at the half-time, Trystan saved a penalty to keep Aycliffe hopes alive. Charlie grabbed a goal back, but Aycliffe just couldn’t find the equaliser. MOTM was awarded to Charlie. Next up for the Under 15’s Whites is a cup quarter final.

Under 16’s Whites – Lost away at Whinney Banks, with no goalkeeper due to injury, Aycliffe battled hard and were excellent throughout. Kenzie scored the goal for Aycliffe and Ollie was awarded MOTM.

Under 16’s Reds – Put in a good performance, beating Guisborough 5-1 at home, the goals were scored by Sam (4) and Reuben. MOTM was awarded to Sam.
