NAFC Junior Section round-up

A round-up of football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

24th 25th February

Under 7’s – Travelled to Whitby to play their first game since the winter break. Aycliffe played some amazing football and worked hard, scoring through Cooper. In a very even game, both teams enjoyed themselves.

Under 8’s Whites – Played Whitburn and Cleadon Tigers, in a tough game, the highlight was Jacob saving a penalty in goal. Seb was parents POTM and Louie got opposition POTM.

Under 8’s Juniors – Faced Riverside JNR Whites, Aycliffe played superb football scoring an amazing eight goals through Felix K (2), Reuben (2), Fletcher, and Zach. MOTM was Reign for a great defensive performance.

Under 8’s Reds – Travelled to Riverside JNR Blues, putting in a wonderful team performance with a goal for Jack G. MOTM was Orig and Managers MOTM going to Michael.

Under 9’s – Participated in their first tournament at Chester Le Street. Aycliffe played five, fifteen-minute games, which were very intense. Notable goals from Eddie and Taylor, with POTT going to Eddie.

Under 10’s Reds – Faced Sleights, Andrew opened the scoring, then not long after scored again. In the second half Bobby rattled the post. Aycliffe were comfortable throughout. MOTM was Jayden, the team all went to Whitby for fish and chips after the game.

Under 11’s Blacks – Hosted Greatham Blues in the cup, on a tough morning Aycliffe could not find a way through to the next round. MOTM was Marry who was outstanding in goal.

Under 12’s Blacks travelled to East Durham. Trailing at half time, Aycliffe rallied with goals from Benjamin and Jake, but could not reverse the damage done in the first half. MOTM was Olly for an impressive performance.

Under 14’s – Travelled to Marton FC Blues in the cup, it was a tough game against a division one side and Aycliffe could not be faulted for their effort but couldn’t make it into the next round of the cup. MOTM was Logan.

Under 16’s Whites – Travelled to Whinney banks in the 3rd round of the league cup, Aycliffe were brilliant against one of the best teams in the northeast hitting the post and the bar, but the game finished 0-0. Whinney Banks won 3-1 on penalties. MOTM was awarded to Brad.

Under 13’s – Were away to Billingham Juniors, coming away with a super 7-3 win. Goals from Tyler, Archie (2), Zach, Sam, Ryhs, and Oscar J. MOTM was Layton.

2nd 3rd March

Under 8’s Whites – Played Belmont United Eagles, in a tough game, it was Oscar who scored. POTM from opposition manager was Oscar and POTM from parents was Seb.

Under 8’s Juniors – Travelled to Whinney Banks YCC and put in a brilliant team performance. Goals from Colton, Reuben, Felix K, Lincoln, and Reign. MOTM went to the full team for a fantastic team performance.

Under 9’s – Played Leven Juniors at home, in a game which was end to end, with Aycliffe goals from Oliver and Noah. In the development game Eddie and Noah scored the goals. MOTM was awarded to Harvey for his passing, kicking and outstanding saves.

Under 10’s Reds – Faced Redcar and put in a fantastic performance with goals from Marshall, Andrew and Jace. Mario was awarded MOTM by the opposition. A second clean sheet in a row for Aycliffe.

Under 10’s Blacks – Played Prissick Rovers Blues at home, in a tough game, Aycliffe battled well scoring goals through Alfie S and JJ (2). Opposition picked POTM which was Hughie W who was solid in defence.

Under 12’s Blacks – Played Deerness, chances were limited for both teams with the score 0-0 at half time. Connor scored for Aycliffe, but they could not hold on and drew 1-1. MOTM was shared between the whole team.

Under 12’s Juniors – Travelled to Whitby, coming away with an impressive 3-1 win with goals from Shae and Jonah (2). POTM was Phoebe for brilliant attacking play all game and Daniel for great defending and keeping his cool. The team then enjoyed Whitby Fish & Chips to celebrate their first league win of the season.

Under 14’s – Played against top of the table Tibs, Aycliffe led at the break, through Harry. In a cruel twist Tibs scored two late goals for the win. MOTM was given to Alife for constant encouragement and top defending at times.

Under 15’s Whites – Had a tough 1-4 defeat away to Darlington Allstars. The goal was from Jake C and MOTM was Lewis.

Under 16’s Whites – Won 3-1 at home to Billingham United. Kenzie (2) and Tyler scored the goals. MOTM was awarded to Kenzie.
