A round-up of football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Under 8’s Whites – Played Houghton Albion Lions, with only five players available, Aycliffe gave there all, battling hard and playing some good football. Louie was awarded opposition POTM for his display in goal and Cody was awarded parents POTM for his outstanding display in defence.

Under 8’s Juniors – Played Boro Rangers Barca in the cup, it was not to be Aycliffe’s day, but they did put in an impressive performance against very organised opposition. MOTM went to Zach for great determination and work rate.

Under 8’s Reds – Played Marton Blues on a muddy pitch, it was a very tough game, but all five players showed real courage and true spirit with Kian scoring Aycliffe’s goal. MOTM was Orig who did well in his defensive duties today.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Dormanstown Rovers Beam. In cold and windy conditions, Aycliffe still managed to control the game with great passing and finishing. Goals from Jarrod H (3), Alfie S (2) and Jack B. The defence including goalkeeper Liam B performed magnificently to keep a clean sheet. MOTM picked by the opposition was hat-trick hero Jarrod H.

Under 10’s Reds – Played against Skelton United in the rain and wind. Aycliffe dominated from the off with some outstanding passing and movement off the ball. A thunderous strike from Jace opened the scoring, into the second half Andrew come on and scored two goals which was enough for the opposition manager to award him MOTM.

Under 11’s Blacks – Travelled to Stockton Town Royals, in a game full of goals it was Max who grabbed a brace and Tyler who rounded up the scoring for Aycliffe. Some great football was played, and Aycliffe could have scored many more. MOTM was Max fantastic work up front, pressed all game and caused problems for them throughout.

Under 11’s Whites – Had a great result against Leon FC Blues, in a very tight tense game, it was Oscar who pounced on a goalkeeper error to score. MOTM was William B who was excellent at right back.

Under 12’s Juniors – Faced Boro Rangers Madrid at home, looking for an improved performance since the teams last met. Aycliffe were slow to settle into the game but played some good football and a lot of possession without converting and of the chances. The opposition were clinical in front of goal, taking their chances. MOTM went to Jonah, a constant threat all game.

Under 12’s Whites – Played their first game in almost 10 weeks against highflying Roesberry Park. In an entertaining game, Aycliffe conceded a late free kick to lose 2-1. Aycliffe’s goal was scored by Max L and MOTM was awarded to Thomas and Maxi.

Under 12’s Blacks – Played against Coxhoe United in a game they dominated to win 8-1. Jack scored Aycliffe’s fist two goals, before Connor scored to lead 3-1 at the break. In the second half Connor scored three goals to complete his four-goal haul. Jake who was solid at the back, added a seventh before Benjamin finished the scoring. POTM from parents was Connor for his great goals. Coach’s POTM was Jake for his all-round excellent performance.

Under 14’s – Continued their excellent league form with another superb win, a fourth in a row against Billingham Juniors who were second in the league and unbeaten since October. Aycliffe dominated from start to finish game with a 3-0 win, with MOTM Harry claiming a great hat-trick.

Under 15’s Blacks – Entertained Willington, knowing the opposition are difficult, Aycliffe come out fighting and after some great football to come away with an impressive 8-1 victory. Goals scored by Joey (2), Jayden (4), Mushy, and Clayton. MOTM was picked by the opposition was Joey.
