NAFC Junior Section round-up

A round-up of football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Under 7’s – Hosted Bishop Auckland St. Marys, Aycliffe played some brilliant attacking football with goals from Harry (2) and Alfie. Archie in goal made some great saves.

Under 8’s Reds – Faced North Ormesby, with goals from Oliver and Leo. In a wonderful team performance, MOTM was Michael for an excellent goalkeeping display.

Under 8’s Juniors – Played against Billingham Juniors Lions, Billingham were a tough team to break down, but Aycliffe kept plugging away and the hard work paid off. With goals from Reign (2) Felix K, Fletcher and Reuben. MOTM went to Reuben for a great defensive performance and great decision making.

Under 9’s – Played Billingham Junior Lions, in a tough competitive game, Aycliffe scored through Harvey and an opposition OG. In the development game, another OG and Eddie scored the goals. MOTM was Oliver.

Under 10’s Blacks – Hosted Billingham Symphonia Whites with goals from Jacob G and Hughie W. POTM awarded by the opposition manager was Jarrod H for taking players on, link up play and shots on goal.

Under 10’s Reds – Played Billingham Junior Lions, scoring some great goals through Joseph, OG, Koa, Andrew & Marshall (2). In goal Jenson made some wonderful saves. MOTM was Mario for an outstanding display.

Under 11’s Blacks – Travelled to Greatham Blues, in an impressive performance with everyone working hard, Fin, Ryley H and Tyler scored goals. MOTM was Riley R who was superb in defence, really composed when playing out from the back and made some great challenges.

Under 12’s Blacks – Played Darlington Young Bulls, in a tough game Aycliffe were defeated 3-1, goal coming from Benjamin after clever work from Connor. POTM was Cody for his excellent defensive work including a goal line clearance.

Under 12’s Whites – Hoisted Felling, in a tight game, Aycliffe went down 3-2. Goals from Jack and James. MOTM was goalkeeper Jensen and left back Brandon.

Under 12’s Juniors – Played some of their best football of the season at home to Northallerton but could not get the victory they are looking for. Aycliffe’s goal came from a lovely through ball by Dec to set Jonah up for his 7th goal of the season. Maxi and Daniel both went close with great efforts. Opposition awarded MOTM was Jonah, a constant threat all game. MOTM was Maxi, for his effort all game.

Under 13’s – Travelled to FC Hartlepool Reds, in an end-to-end game Aycliffe came out on top, winning 5-4 with some good football. Goals from Zach (2), Alex, Lucas & Rhys. MOTM was Zach.

Under 14’s – Played in the county cup away to Waldridge Park Juniors. Aycliffe started well and were awarded a free kick which Huey whipped in, and it dropped to Mo who scored to give Aycliffe the lead. Into the second half the opposition drew level, taking the game to penalties which Aycliffe won 4-3 and head into the next round. MOTM was Jamie, a top-class performance from the captain.

Under 15’s Whites – Entertained Prissick Rovers, going down 2-1. In a dogged performance it was a nice free kick towards the back post from Josh that allowed Ethan to finish well. Aycliffe went close but could not find the equaliser. MOTM was Josh who was dominant throughout, taking knocks along the way.

Under 18’s – Hosted Shildon, with a depleted squad Aycliffe ended up drawing 5-5. Showing some great movement going forward Aycliffe were rewarded with goals from Zack (2), Hari (2), and Max. A good point, but disappointing to concede two late goals.
