NAFC Junior Section round-up

A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Under 7’s Whites – Played against Whitburn & Cleadon JFC. Aycliffe worked extremely hard throughout. POTM was James who had a brilliant game in goal, pulling off great saves.

Under 7’s Reds – Had a terrific result against Redcar Athletic Blues, battling hard with Kian scoring four goals, the scoring was complete through a wonderful free kick from Oscar who also earned MOTM for an amazing display.

Under 7’s Juniors – Had a fantastic game against Riverside Junior Reds. With clean sheets for both Luke and Joey, Aycliffe’s goals were scored by Reign (3), Lincoln, Felix (2), Colton, Reuben & Felix K. MOTM was awarded to Felix C for excellent decision making and hard work.

Under 9’s – Played against Darlington RA Tornado’s, Aycliffe put in a tremendous performance, scoring goals through Jace, Joseph, Marshall, Charlie (3), Koa (2), and Andrew. Jenson made a string of outstanding saves to keep out the opposition. MOTM was awarded to Olly W for his great tackling, running and all round game.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Prissick Rovers Madrid, in a tough game Aycliffe couldn’t convert one of the chances they created. MOTM was Chase who worked hard throughout.

Under 11’s Juniors – Entertained Eaglescliffe in a very entertaining game, Dom & Jonah scored Aycliffe’s goals.

Under 11’s Blacks – Travelled to Washington Pumas, in what was a tough game, Aycliffe couldn’t get the goal they tried so hard to get. MOTM was Brandon for his defensive skill, passing and hard work.

Under 12’s – Travelled to Kadar, putting in a good performance, but where on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline. Zak scored Aycliffe’s goal. MOTM was Lucas.

Under 13’s – Travelled to Guisborough Town, losing narrowly 2-1. In what was one of the best performances of the season, Aycliffe battled hard throughout, with the goal coming from James who’s cross was deflected in of a Guisborough defender. MOTM was awarded to the whole team.

Under 14’s Blacks – Travelled to Peterlee Evolution who started strong and opened the scoring early on, Aycliffe scored a quick equaliser through Keaton. The full time result did not go Aycliffe’s way despite the hard work. MOTM was awarded to Fynley, who put in a tremendous performance.

Under 14’s Whites – Made the short trip to Ferryhill, Aycliffe took the lead when a corner from Ethan found Tom who finished well. Another fantastic corner from Ethan found Charlie this time to slot the ball home. A quick throw from Ethan put Henry in down the left wing who took on two players to cross for Tom to score his second. Ferryhill pulled a goal back, before Jack linked up with Tom to complete his hat-trick in a 4-1 win. MOTM was Trystan who pulled off great saves.

Under 15’s Reds – Travelled to Eaglescliffe, running out 2-0 winners. An own goal and a brilliant long-range effort from Harry T was enough to seal the win. MOTM was awarded to Alex.

Under 15’s Whites – Shared the points with defending champions Whinney Banks. It was a fantastic finish from Tyler who secured Aycliffe the point. MOTM was Dan who was outstanding.

Under 17’s – Entertained Washington Juniors controlling the game from start to finish.Morgan gave Aycliffe the lead via a deflection, it was Morgan again who doubled the lead with a calm finish. The second half was a scrappy and Aycliffe conceded before Morgan won a penalty which Charlie converted. Great 3-1 win, extending the unbeaten run. MOTM was Anthony.
