A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

January 21/22 round-up:

Under 7’s Reds – Faced Middleton Rangers in a friendly and showed their spirit and courage, playing well and scoring goals through Kian (5) and Jack A. MOTM was Richie who had a great game.

Under 7’s Juniors – Played Darlington RA Rockets in three x fifteen-minute friendly games. Aycliffe played good fast football and worked very hard. Goals scored by Reuben and Reign. MOTM was Lincoln for magnificent work all around.

Under 10 Whites – Played Seaham Coast, starting slowly before eventually bursting into life with some nice passing football, resulting in a goal from Oscar. MOTM was split between Oscar C & Lucas for amazing saves.

January 28/29 round-up:

Under 14’s Blacks – Travelled to Ryton & Crawrcook Albion Blues in the 4th round of the cup. Aycliffe dominated from the start with a fantastic corner from Jake giving Aycliffe the lead. It was short lived with Crawcrook equalising. A header from Danny saw Aycliffe lead at half time. Aycliffe continued to press forward Al went to score a wonderful hat-trick. Final Score was 5-1 to Aycliffe and into the next round of the cup. MOTM was Jake.

Under 7’s Reds – On Saturday Under 7’s played in the mid-season Champions League Tournament. In cold and rainy conditions, the team of five, played every minute of all seven games, remaining unbeaten in six of them, making it to the final. On Sunday, the team hosted Nunthorpe JFC, putting in a great performance with goals from Jack A (2) and Kian (5).

Under 9’s – Played against Redcar Town Whites in cold and windy conditions. Aycliffe scored some great goals, with Joseph assisting Charlie, before Olly P scored with a thunderous strike, from an assist from Joseph. Andrew then went on a lovely solo run, scoring on his first start. Aycliffe kept pushing and with the ball bouncing about in box up popped Jace at the back post to score. MOTM went to Mario for his non-stop running and tackling.

Under 10’s Whites – Played against Washington United, in a game that Aycliffe dominated, Oscar and Ryley scored goals. MOTM was John for some excellent defensive work.

Under 10’s Blacks – Played Riverside Juniors Inter, going close to scoring with both Max and Kai going close. MOTM was Fletcher who was outstanding once again in defence.

Under 11’s Juniors – Entertained Darlington 21st Allstars. Aycliffe were frustrated in the final third of the pitch, but eventually some great play saw Dan set Jonah up to score. Aycliffe pushed hard and Jonah scored another wonderful goal. MOTM was Brodie for another robust performance.

Under 13’s – Won for the first time in the league this season against Billingham Juniors. It was a fantastic and hardworking performance on a very tricky pitch, goals from Keaton, Callum, and Oliver. MOTM was Huey.

Under 15’s Whites – Travelled to Pools Youth coming away with a great 2-0 win, Aycliffe dominated the game and thoroughly deserved the victory. Josh scored both goals.

Under 15’s Reds – Entertained Riverside Whites, with Aycliffe dominating the first half they were frustrated to find themselves going in 0-0 at half time. The second half was a different story and as soon as the first goal went in the floodgates opened, with Aycliffe eventual 5-0 winners. Goals from Harry C, Kayden, Reuben, Will and an own goal. MOTM was Caleb.

Under 18’s – Suffered heartbreak conceding in the 95th minute to lose 2-1 to Redcar Athletic Under 23’s in the semi-final of the county cup, with Aycliffe’s goal coming from Thomas.
