A round up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Ahead of the weekend’s games, all players, coaches, opponents, parents, and spectators observed a minute’s silence in remembrance of the brave service men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for us all. Lest we forget.

Under 7’s Juniors – Had two games against Hebburn Town and Shotton Colts. In two great games Aycliffe managed to score some amazing goals from Colton, Felix, Reign & Lincoln. MOTM was Reign in Game one and Colton in Game two, both players showed hard work and determination.

Under 7’s Reds – Played Bishop Auckland St Mary’s at Woodham Academy, with Jack scoring a great goal for Aycliffe. MOTM was awarded to Kian.

Under 9’s – Entertained Prissick Rovers Reds, Aycliffe started well and scored through Marshall, who was assisted from Mario. Charlie’s corner was then converted from Koa before Marshall’s shot deflected in off a Prissick player. Jenson made some good saves in goal, before Koa grabbed two more goals to complete the hat-trick. MOTM was Jenson for some brilliant saves. In the development game the MOTM was Bobby who made some great saves.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to North Ormesby, Aycliffe created numerous chances, hitting the bar twice, but could not get the goal they deserved. MOTM was Max who put in an impressive performance in midfield.

Under 10’s Whites – Played against Washington Heights Tigers. In a tight game, it was William B who scored the goal for Aycliffe. The performance showed fantastic effort from all the players. MOTM was William R.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played against Velocity eagles, in a tough game it was Rhys who scored Aycliffe’s goal. MOTM was James for his challenging work in midfield and Alfie for his impressive performance in goal in the second half.

Under 12’s – Entertained hosted TIBS, it was Aycliffe who started well and got the lead before half time, into the second half Aycliffe went on to win 3-1 and remain unbeaten this season in the league. Goals from Zach, Archie and Layton who was also awarded the MOTM.

Under 14’s Blacks – Hosted Peterlee Evolution, Aycliffe opened the scoring with well-placed penalty from Danny, before Peterlee equalised. Keaton restored Aycliffe’s advantage scoring a screamer from the halfway line before Peterlee equalised again. It was the visitors who took the lead in the second half, but Aycliffe grabbed a well-deserved point with a goal from Jake to make it 3-3.

Under 14’s Whites – Travelled to Catterick looking to maintain 100% winning start to the season, the result was never in doubt with Aycliffe running riot and winning 21-1. Goals from Noah (4), Tom (4), Jack (3), Jake G (2), Jake C (2), Jayden (2), Henry, Ethan, Josh, and Sam. MOTM was awarded to Jake C who was influential on the right wing. The result gives Aycliffe seven wins from seven this season.

Under 15’s – Won 2-1 against Hurworth Under 16’s in the first round of County cup, playing against a team a year older, Aycliffe dominated the tie, with McKenzie and Brad scoring the goals. MOTM was Brad.

Under 18’s – Hosted Richmond Town, the first half was a real battle with both sides cancelling each other out, to go into half-time goalless. In the second half, Aycliffe showed their class racing into a three-goal lead with goals from Jacob, Tom and Milo, Richmond grabbed a consolation goal with ten minutes to go, but overall, it was a great result for Aycliffe, a result which sees the Under 18’s sitting top of the league.
