A round-up of this week’s football from Newton Aycliffe Junior Section.

Under 7’s Juniors – Played against Washington Wildcats and put in an impressive performance. Goals Lincoln, Felix, Reign, Colton, and Zach, and a clean sheet for Luke. MOTM was Felix.

Under 7’s Reds – Played Nunthorpe Athletic in the cup and put in a wonderful display. In a game full of attacking football which produced lots of goals, Aycliffe scored through Kian (3), Jack and Joseph. MOTM was Alfie who scored a goal in the development game.

Under 9’s – Played against Prissick Rovers, Aycliffe started the game fast with some good passing and moving and deservedly took the lead through Koa. Aycliffe kept attacking and scored again with Joseph netting from a fletcher assist. In an action packed second half Jenson made three fine saves. MOTM was Jenson.

Under 10’s Blacks – Travelled to Northallerton Whites in the league and bounced back from last week’s cup disappointment. In the early exchanges Liam kept Aycliffe in the game with a string of fine saves. Aycliffe eventually come away with the victory with goals from Fin (2), Tyler and Max. Wild celebrations from parents and players followed. MOTM was Liam with another magnificent display in goal.

Under 11’s Blacks – Played against Rutherford, Connor Conner scored mid-way through the first half with some excellent footwork and a good finish. Unfortunately, Aycliffe could not convert their second half chances to hang on for the win. MOTM was Brandon for his work rate, passing, and his positional awareness.

Under 12’s – Entertained Coulby Newham, Aycliffe trailed in the first half, but battled back to earn a 1-1 draw with a goal from Jack and were unlucky not to grab the win it. MOTM was goal scorer Jack.

Under 13’s – Were knocked out of the cup, after losing to Riverside Juniors. MOTM was Jamie who never stopped working throughout.

Under 14’s Whites – Faced Sedgefield in the cup. Up against a team three divisions higher, Aycliffe went toe to toe with the opposition, before conceding. Twins Josh and Ethan then combined for Josh to equalise from the corner. Into the second half, Sedgefield scored two goals to win 3-, but Aycliffe left with pride well and truly intact. MOTM was Josh who was absolutely first class.

Under 15’s Whites – Won 7-1 away at Leven Whites in the cup. Goals from Kenzie (2), Tyler, Jayden, Ollie Brad & Jake, saw Aycliffe safely progress into the next round. MOTM was shared between Brad and Tyler.

Under 15’s Blacks – Got their first win today, beating fellow division two side Haydon Bridge 2-1 in the Cup. Goals from Connor and Matty, saw Aycliffe safely through into the next round.

Under 15’s Reds – Travelled to Darlington Spraire Lads in the cup, in a tough assignment Aycliffe faced a team three divisions higher and could not progress into the next round. MOTM was Finley.

Under 17’s – Entertained Tyne and Wear United in the cup, winning comfortably 4-2. Goals coming from Noah (2), Morgan and a special goal from fifteen yards inside his own half from Charlie.
