MULTI-SKILLS FESTIVAL AT WOODHAM

February 15th, 2013 Martin Walker Community, News, Sport 0 comments 0

More than 200 energetic children from seven Newton Aycliffe primary schools took part in Woodham Academy’s Year 2 Multi Sports Festival.

The 207 children were able to sample a variety of sports, showing off skills and demonstrating their fantastic sporting ability.

The festival was organised by Education Enterprise Legacy and saw professional coaches work alongside Woodham students to organise a carousel of sport activities that included Tri-golf, Tennis, Basketball, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Tag Rugby and Gymnastics.

Lewis Marr, Managing Director of Education Enterprise Legacy, said: “The festival was a huge success and the feedback from the kids and teachers was excellent.

“I must add the year 9 students from Woodham Academy who assisted in delivering the programme were brilliant and their school should be very proud!

“The festival was aimed at skill development rather than competition, we just want to encourage the children to go and participate in new sports outside of school and hopefully we have influenced a few young people today building on the success of the Olympics.”

Education Enterprise Legacy will be holding more festivals and events in the future, for more information and photographs visit educationenterprise.co.uk
