More Time for cake as local enterprise supports coffee morning

October 11th, 2016 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Staff from a local social enterprise in Newton Aycliffe provided scrumptious cakes and coffee in aid of a national charity.

Workers from More Time Cafe, based at Sapphire House on Aycliffe Business Park, delivered a table full of delights to staff and the public, where they were displayed prior to being sold in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Coffee Morning, with a total amount of £250 raised for the Cancer charity.

Students from the DISC’s Steps 4 Success programme also contributed to the coffee morning by collecting money, manning the tombola and decorating the café to help entice customers.

Amongst the happy customers who enjoyed tucking into a cake was Siobhan Dalton (pictured), who works as finance officer for DISC.

She said: “There were so many cakes on offer I didn’t know which one to choose! Eventually I chose a fairy cake, which turned out to be an inspired choice as it was delicious!”

More Time is based at The IES Centre on Horndale Avenue, Aycliffe Business Park (near the Blue Bridge).
