Housebuilder reveals plans for new £36.5m Chilton development

June 21st, 2017 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

Housebuilder Avant Homes is bringing a new £36.5m development to County Durham creating 182 new homes.

Outline planning has been granted for a two-phase build programme of properties on a 14-acre site in Chilton.

The development – called Peerfields – is located off Durham Road and will comprise a selection of three and four-bedroom homes.

Work on the first phase of 92 homes is underway with the full build programme lasting approximately five years creating a large number of local construction and sales jobs.

Avant Homes North East managing director Scott Varley (pictured above) said: “We are delighted to have been granted outline planning for this new development which will deliver high quality family homes to Chilton.

“We have a strong presence in Durham and have always found our homes here to be in very high demand.

“Our focus as a business is on building innovative design-led, family homes in prime locations and this new development will continue to deliver on that objective.

“Properties will include our all-inclusive specification and innovative house designs, both of which set Avant Homes apart from other developers and challenge convention in the news homes sector.”

The first homes to be released for purchase off plan include a collection four different semi-detached and detached house designs priced from £199,950 to £289,950.

The showhomes at the development will open in August 2017 with the first homes expected to be ready for occupation in September 2017.

As well as providing much-needed, high quality family homes for the region, Avant Homes will invest approximately £700,000 in the creation and improvement of Rushyford Roundabout, education provision and public open space.

This new development will take the number of current sites Avant Homes has in the north east to 14, with four of those located in Durham, including Aykley View, Framwellgate; Broadmeadows, Browney; Magdalene Gardens, Belmont and Rainton Green, Rainton.

Based in Sunderland, Avant Homes North East is an operating company of the Avant Homes group, one of the leading private developers of residential property in the UK. The housebuilder’s current developments stretch from Cramlington in Northumberland to Yarm in Teesside.
