HITACHI GET DOWN TO ‘REAL BUSINESS’

October 22nd, 2012 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

By Martin Walker

Hitachi admit they were able to get down to “real business” during last week’s Oktoberfest.

The Xcel Centre, on Aycliffe Business Park, hosted the Durham Oktoberfest event, an engineering and manufacturing which brought hundreds of businesspeople to the town.

Darren Cumner will be plant manager of Hitachi Rail Europe’s new £77m train-building facility when it opens for business in 2014.

He joined eight members of Hitachi’s procurement team to talk to local SMEs, and Mr Cumner admits, after months of rumour and doubt, it was good to get down to some “real business”.
