Newton Aycliffe-based Growthfunders, the North of England’s first online equity crowdfunding platform, has made an important appointment to help provide support for investors and entrepreneurs.

Jenna Taylor has been appointed by the County Durham and London based company behind the platform, Growth Capital Ventures, as Content Marketing Executive.

A Teesside University graduate with a BA in English Studies and MA in Creative Writing, Jenna’s role will include writing blogs, eBooks, website content, e-mail campaigns, newsletters and more, to help inform, support and educate entrepreneurs and investors.

Growthfunders has been launched to match ambitious entrepreneurs with great business ideas to a range of investors to create and grow exciting businesses.

The site allows entrepreneurs leading businesses with high growth potential to garner support and raise capital online from a wide range of investors, including angel networks and early stage venture capitalists (VCs).

Growthfunders also opens up access to this exciting asset class to a wider audience of suitably-qualified online angels, or the eponymous “crowd”, who can experience investing alongside more experienced investors.

Jenna, from Redcar, said: “Joining the GrowthFunders team is an exciting opportunity for me to be able to use my skills to get involved with supporting investors and entrepreneurs and being at the heart of something which will encourage growth and job creation.”

Launched by North East and Yorkshire-based entrepreneurs, Craig and Norman Peterson, GrowthFunders has a wealth of experience behind it.

Both Craig and Norman have supported entrepreneurs raising capital, acting as mentors and providing strategic advice to a range of high growth businesses.

The co-founders have recently completed exams with the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments as part of their continuous professional development.
