Greenfield students contribute to food bank appeal

January 2nd, 2019 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Students from Greenfield Community College have continued to contribute and make a difference to the local community by supporting an important local appeal.

Mountain Hartside tutor group alongside their tutor Miss Foster have been running a food bank appeal for local charity Shildon Alive, who help local people with food hampers and cupboard top ups. Both sites have contributed lots of food and products to be donated.

Shildon Alive visited the school recently to collect the donations and speak to the tutor group. The students were tasked to build a food hamper for a family, to see how the products get grouped together. It was a brilliant opportunity for students to see what is actually required to create family meals.

Greenfield Community College and in particular staff and students from Mountain Hartside tutor group are thankful for all the donations from staff and students across our school.
