Encourage your little one to get more active this Easter as a series of sporty fun activities for young people take place.

Four fantastic days of fun are taking place in the south of the county with football, cricket futsal and tennis on offer.

Tuesday, 31 March, Junior Indoor Football Tournament, Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, 10am until 4pm.

Wednesday, 1 April, All Star Futsal Tournament for the over 14s, Spennymoor Leisure Centre, 1pm until 5pm.

Wednesday, 8 April, Tennis Training Camp for those aged between 8 and 14 at Newton Aycliffe Leisure Centre, 10am and 4pm.

Thursday, 9 April, Junior Cricket Fun Camp for those aged between 8 and 14 at Spennymoor Leisure Centre, 1pm and 5pm.

All of the sessions are being delivered by Durham County Council’s sports development team with support from staff at both leisure centres.

John Walker, sports development officer, Durham County Council said: “What could be better than an Easter holiday full of sports for boys and girls which provide both training sessions and competition?”

The sessions aim to build on the success of similar activities which took place during the February Half Term holidays and saw 319 young people take part.
