To encourage people to become fitter and healthier in 2014, Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) and Local Motion are organising free six-week courses to help you kick start the ‘new you’.

Two Healthy Lifestyle Courses will be running at two different venues in Newton Aycliffe for 6 weeks starting on Monday 20 January. Additional courses can also be organised subject to demand.

If the courses are successful they will be arranged for other areas, as part of the Local Motion programme which promotes the health benefits of active travel and PCP’s aim to improve people’s health and wellbeing.

There are still places left for the first course which starts next Monday, 20 January 10.30am – 12 noon from Woodham Community Centre and will run weekly until Monday 3 March.

Each week provides a new activity people can try (so don’t worry if you miss a week):

Week 1 Monday 20 Jan –Healthy Indian Cookery Workshop
Week 2 Monday 27 Jan – Guided Health Walk
Week 3 Monday 3 Feb – Zumba Session
Week 4 Monday 10 Feb – Nordic Walking
Week 5 Monday 17 Feb – Sound Therapy and Reiki
Week 6 Monday 24 Feb – A group activity of your choice

There will also be the opportunity to discuss future training and volunteering opportunities.

If you would like more information or would like to take part in these courses please contact Catriona Grime at PCP  tel: 01325 321234 or email: [email protected] or Joe Cogdon at Team Local Motion tel: 03000 268007 or email:[email protected].
