Free Courses at PCP to Help Job Seekers

January 24th, 2012 tania Community, News 0 comments 0

The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is offering a range of free courses to help job seekers.

The PCP has formed a partnership with Bishop Auckland College, as part of the Newton Aycliffe Learning Partnership, to offer a range of Community Learning courses, free to those who are claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA) or Employment Support Allowance (ESA).

Courses include an Introduction to Youth Work, Teaching Assistant, Care, Counselling, Childcare, Play work, Administration and Customer Care. There’s also an Employability course to help people with CV writing, job searching and applying as well as confidence building. For a full programme of activities on offer including days and times please get in touch with the PCP.

The courses are an ideal way to gain a taste of something new or something you’ve always thought about doing. Plus it’s a great start in longer-term learning opportunities or employment.

The sessions provide key information about the subject and the friendly and approachable training staff will deliver the information in a straightforward and understandable way, offering learners the chance to ask questions and apply the newly acquired information.

The majority of courses last 4 weeks and are open to all ages and abilities. If people are not in receipt of ESA or JSA it only costs £4.60 per 2 hour session.

Carol Wood, Business Development Director for the PCP says: “We feel there is a full range of courses on offer to help people learn a new skill, discover a new hobby or improve their confidence and self-esteem.

“We would also like to know if there is something people want to do that isn’t on offer. Please get in touch to tell us and we will do our best to provide, depending on numbers (a minimum of 10 people is required).”

All courses run subject to sufficient demand and it is recommended that places are booked as soon as possible either by telephone 01325 321234 or email: [email protected]

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
