Four Aycliffe students to pitch business idea to ‘Dragons’

April 5th, 2017 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Four year 9 students from Woodham Academy visited York University to take part in the launch of a 14-week business and enterprise competition.

The Big Deal is for high achieving students in Years 9 or 10. Teams compete against each other to develop a business plan, which they will pitch at a Dragons’ Den-style event in June.

Students also complete online challenges with mentoring support from a business professional.

The winning team are taken on a business trip of a lifetime to New York City to explore their business ideas in an international context.

Emily French, Hannah Tarn, Rory Hubery and Ritchie Steward made up Woodham’s four-person team at the event in York last week.
