February 25th, 2019 Martin Walker News 0 comments 0

Members of the public are being invited to apply to serve on County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Authority.

The authority is seeking two people to serve as independent members to help it maintain standards of conduct.

The successful candidates will be involved in dealing with any complaints against other members and will need to attend at least three meetings per year.

Anyone applying should have a keen interest in upholding democracy and standards in the public sector and wish to serve the local community.

They will need to demonstrate high standards of personal integrity and be objective, independent and impartial.

They should also have direct experience of implementing and upholding standards and/or dealing with complaints and customer care issues.

The positions are unpaid but travel and subsistence allowances will be paid for attending meetings. Training is provided.

Application forms are available from Ian Croft, legal and democratic services, County Hall, Durham. Call 03000 269 702 or email [email protected] Further information on the work of the fire authority can be found at www.ddfire.gov.uk combined-fire-authority

The closing date for applications is Friday, March 22, with interviews expected to take place on Friday, April 26.
