Excitement builds as shortlists revealed for 2024 Aycliffe Business Make Your Mark Awards

March 27th, 2024 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

The shortlists have been revealed as some of Newton Aycliffe’s biggest companies go head-to-head for the coveted Company of the Year title.

The Aycliffe Business Make Your Mark Awards will be held in the Coleman Suite at Hardwick Hall Hotel on the evening of Thursday, May 9.

After receiving almost 60 entries across 11 categories, the category sponsors have scored the shortlisted entries to create the most democratic of winners.

Each category sponsor will score five categories, and the companies or individuals with the highest scores will be revealed as the winners on the night.

In the new Businessperson of the Year category, sponsored by Recruitrite, Marcia Atkinson from BTS Facades & Fabrications will compete with Digital Edge’s Graham Marsh and Andy Reed from Senstronics for the crown.

And the Company of the Year title will see Primex Plastics, Husqvarna, Senstronics and BTS battle it out for top spot.

Aycliffe Business Park Community (ABPC) chair Kerina Clark, pictured above, said: “We’re delighted with the response we received in terms of nominations – the quality of the entries we scored were of a very high standard.

“We’re now looking forward to what will be a fantastic, collective celebration of all that’s great about Aycliffe Business Park – celebrating not only the winners and finalists, but also what a thriving business community we have here.”

Resolution Media and Publishing has agreed a three-year deal to deliver the Make Your Mark Aycliffe Business Awards, on behalf of ABPC.

The publishing and events company is co-owned by Aycliffe Business magazine founder and former ABPC board member Martin Walker.

Together with his business partner Dave Allan, their Resolution team have delivered 16 business awards events in the last five years, after launching the hugely successful Tees Businesswomen Awards in 2018.

Since then they have created the Tees Business Awards, Tees Tech Awards, Best New Tees Business Awards, VelociTees and the Wear Businesswomen Awards.

And while on the ABPC board, Martin successfully delivered the Make Your Mark Awards in May 2022 through his Aycliffe Business Park-based company, Mantis Media.

Martin added: “As a proud Newtonian, it has been a joy to work on this project again – it has been another reminder of what a fantastic business park we have in Aycliffe.”

Tickets costing £85 per head, or £800 for a table of 10 (+vat), include a welcome drink, table wine, 3-course dinner and a souvenir programme. They’re available by emailing [email protected]
