Ebac secures international dehumidifier deals

December 15th, 2016 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

Newton Aycliffe manufacturer Ebac is taking its range of dehumidifiers international, with distribution in Belgium, Holland, Greece and Portugal already secured.

The company, which has been making dehumidifiers for the UK market for more than 40 years, with more than 1.25 million units sold, expects to add several more European countries to its network in 2017.

Ebac’s 12 and 15 litre machines, the 2650e and 3850e, both of which benefit from the patented Smart Control, and the Powerdri will all be part of the export initiative.

Smart Control technology is an intelligent software system that automatically controls the operation of the dehumidifier, ensuring the home is always protected from condensation and damp. It can save up to a third on running costs compared to a normal dehumidifier.

Tony Hird, business development director at Ebac, said: “We are delighted that Ebac dehumidifiers will now be in homes across many European countries.

“The products have been very well received and there has been no issues with the upcoming Brexit, in fact the currency situation has worked in our favour and made our products even more competitively priced.”

Meanwhile, Ebac has also bolstered its market-leading water cooler division with the appointment of an experienced international sales manager.

Isabelle Querling has joined the Newton Aycliffe-headquartered company and will be based in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Querling has 12 years’ experience within the European water cooler industry, with a strong background in business-to-business sales.

She will look to grow Ebac’s presence within Europe and promote the company’s watercoolers to new markets.

“Ebac has established itself as a leading name within the industry and I am excited by the opportunity to help grow the brand further across multiple sectors within Europe,” said Querling.

“I have spent the last 12 years working in the sector and have gained a vast amount of experience and expertise, which will put me in good stead for the role. I am also keen to drive forward the importance of water in everyday life and water coolers as a lifestyle product.”

Hird added: “It is an exciting time for the company and with Isabelle operating out of our Dusseldorf base, this provides the accessibility to develop new markets, as well as maintain links with our existing customers across Europe.”
