Discover Covid specific support for Mental Health Awareness Week

April 27th, 2022 Community 0 comments 971

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2022, the County Durham Covid-19 Resilience Team will be holding a free drop-in session for anyone to have a chat and a ‘cuppa’ with the team to find out how they can help you in response to the pandemic.

The drop-in day is being held at the Pioneering Care Centre, Cobblers Hall, on Tuesday, May 10 (1-3pm).

Donna Sheavills, project lead for the County Durham Covid-19 Resilience Team, said: “This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week theme explores the impact of loneliness, and this is all too common within referrals into our service.

“We have many people who we are supporting who have been suffering from feelings of isolation and loneliness due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Our team can give a helping hand to manage mental health and reduce isolation and loneliness, as well as supporting those suffering from increased anxiety, loss of loved ones and more.

“We listen to each person’s needs, as our support is tailored to suit individual goals. If you think that this would benefit you or someone you know, come along and have a chat with us.”

Available to individuals and families living or working in County Durham, the dedicated team also continue to support community keyworkers, and want to reach out to people in similar roles that may be suffering in silence.

If you are struggling with the emotional and wellbeing effects of COVID-19, get in touch with the service on [email protected].
