Dale Sugden wins Options ‘Member of the Year’

January 2nd, 2020 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Options Day Service supports adults with physical and learning difficulties and the members were thrilled to crown Dale Sugden as ‘Member of the Year’ at the annual Awards ceremony which took place at Redworth Hall Hotel in December.

Options, delivered by the Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) in Newton Aycliffe, seeks to promote independence, choice and social inclusion for all. The event is a great opportunity to reflect on a successful year for the group and the individual members – filled with friends and family as well as PCP staff and volunteers. It is one of the highlights of the year and a highly anticipated annual celebration. The winners of the awards are decided through a peer vote which makes the achievement of being crowned Options Member of the Year even more special.

Linda West, Options Coordinator said: “Dale is a very popular member of the group, everyone believes he is a very deserving winner having grown in confidence and independence. Dale has been coming to Options for 10 years and it is great to see Dale take on new tasks that he couldn’t before, and he always offers to help others. Dale enjoys welcoming members by making hot drinks on a morning and is very supportive and friendly. He loves to make others laugh and ensures all members are happy – his energy lights up the room! He will thrive by representing Options for the next year, we’re all very excited for the New Year. Well done Dale”.

Dale proudly received his award and said, “I am so happy and excited to win Member of the Year. It means a lot and I can’t wait to represent Options at events next year. I love coming to Options and seeing my friends every day, thank you for voting for me!”

The night was filled with special awards and accolades and our congratulations go to all of the winners:
