The Newton Aycliffe Cricket Club scoreboard from the weekend’s games…

Saturday 13th June – NYSD Division 2
Sedgefield 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was overcast and cool. Aycliffe won the toss and decided to bat first.
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 214 for 8 declared after 40 overs.
Matty Atkinson 72 not out, Luke Telford 32 and Tom Young 28
Sedgefield 2nd XI 106 all out after 36.5 overs
John Cavanagh 5 for 23, Luke Telford 2 for 17 and Michael Howe 2 for 27
Newton Aycliffe had a comfortable 108 run win away at Sedgefield thanks to an excellent batting performance from man of the match Matty Atkinson (sponsored by Emtec Medical Training) who scored an aggressive unbeaten 72 including ten boundaries. Aycliffe now have 169 points from their 11 games and move up a place to 3rd in the NYSD 2nd division table.

Saturday 13th June – NYSD Division 3
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Bedale 1st XI – weather was overcast and cool. Aycliffe won the toss and asked Bedale to bat first.
Bedale 1st XI – 102 all out after 43.1 overs
Tom Wickins 4 for 8, Patrick Howe 3 for 24 and Jack Slatcher 2 for 8.
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI -103 for 3 after 31.5 overs
Patrick Howe 38 not out, Tony Travis 27 and Jack Slatcher 12 not out
Newton Aycliffe’s 2nd XI had a memorable seven wicket win at home to 3rd in the table Bedale 1st XI after an excellent all round performance from man of the match Patrick Howe (sponsored by Aycliffe NUFC Supporters Bus). Aycliffe now have 104 points from their 11 games and sit comfortably in the mid table.

Saturday 20th June at 1.00pm – NYSD division 3 – Maltby 2nd XI v Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI
