Saturday 5th May – NYSD Division 2
Sedgefield 1st XI v Newton Aycliffe 1st XI – weather was warm and sunny. Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Patrick Howe 4 for 26 and Michael Howe 3 for 24
Newton Aycliffe 1st XI 102 all out after 32 overs
Darryn Bancroft 37, Adam Gittins 17 and Michael Howe 13
Newton Aycliffe’s first team lost by 40 runs away at near neighbours Sedgefield first team. Michael Howe (sponsored by Yvonne & Bob Wood, pictured above) was given the man of the match award for a good all round display with bat and ball.

Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI v Saltburn 2nd XI – weather was warm and sunny. Aycliffe won the toss and chose to bowl first.
Saltburn 2nd XI 225 for 5 after 40 overs
James Brown 2 for 30, Dan Weldon 2 for 41 and Neil Bancroft 1 for 31.
Newton Aycliffe 2nd XI 96 all out after 25.1 overs
Dan Bowmer 18, Joe Haines 15 and Dylan 14
The second team were well beaten at home to an experienced Saltburn 2nd XI by 129 runs. Captain Neil Bancroft was given the man of the match for a solid all round performance on the day.
