COMMUNITY WEIGHT-LOSS CHALLENGE LAUNCHES

July 18th, 2012 Martin Walker Community, News, Sport 0 comments 0

The Arriba! Community Weight Loss Challenge is about to be launched for the very first time in Newton Aycliffe by local lady Jules Baxter.

The Challenge takes the participants’ through a six-week course, teaching them about different aspects of nutrition – related to weight loss.

The club, due to be held Agnew Community Centre on a Thursday evening, will provide an informal and friendly setting. The first class due to launch on Thursday 26th July 2012 at 6.30pm.

As well as a weekly weigh in and a different topic of learning each week, every participant has a one to one appointment so that their specific nutrition and diet problems can be addressed.

As well as measuring weight, body fat % and hydration are looked at and monitored over the weeks so that participants get to see their statistics improving which really helps in terms of motivation.

Arriba! Club Leader Jules (pictured) said: “This unique mix of education and motivation, with the added incentive of winning a cash prize is providing Newton Aycliffe’s  slimmer’s with a solution that works.

“I have been around people who have lost weight, improved their health and made new friends which is lovely to see – including myself.  I became part of this because I saw how effective the challenge was.”

The six-week Weight Loss Challenge costs £20 to join. The finishing prizes are based on percentage body weight lost and participants can win up to £100 (depending on number of participants joining the challenge!).

Jules also offers one-to-one weight-loss coaching for those that are unable to attend a class.

You can contact Jules on 07966 968388 for details of future clubs or to book a 1-1 appointment.
