Tekmar Energy has secured a new cable protection system (CPS) supply contract for an offshore wind farm project located off the Shandong Peninsula in North East China.

The award follows two recently-announced CPS contracts for offshore wind farm projects located in the coastal province of Guangdong in South East China.

Under the latest contract, Aycliffe-based Tekmar will supply its patented TekLink Mechanical Latch CPS technology to protect the project’s subsea array cables as they transition from the seabed through the dynamic zone to the topside hang-off position.

The systems will be manufactured at Tekmar production facility on Aycliffe Business Park and exported to China this year.

Managing director Russell Edmondson said: “We are delighted to secure another exciting CPS supply contract in China and to secure our market leading position in the region.”

Tekma, part of the Tekmar Group plc, is a market-leading provider of subsea protection systems for cables, umbilicals, and flexible products.

The company is trusted to protect billions of pounds worth of subsea assets in offshore energy markets worldwide.

Tekmar Group plc together to provide market-leading technology and services to the global offshore energy markets.
