Great Aycliffe Town Council has secured cash from Durham County Council to fund a new MUGA at Moore Lane Park.
GATC had applied to the county council to go halves on the £40,000 Multi Use Games Area on part of the tarmac area which was previously used as tennis courts – one half will remain available for netball.
A statement from Aycliffe Council this morning said: “We’re pleased to confirm that the application for funds was successful and it is hoped that the MUGA will be installed before the end of this year.”
