Career advice for young people

July 27th, 2015 Martin Walker Community 0 comments 0

Personal advisors are providing support for young people who are deciding what to do next.

Those in year 11 or those who are leaving sixth form are being encouraged to contact Durham County Council’s One Point advisors who will be available during the summer holidays to offer advice and answer any questions.

Personal advisors offer information, advice and guidance and can support young people with applications for college, traineeships and apprenticeships.

One Point advisors offer tailored support to young people to help them explore the range of choices available to them, make well informed decisions and overcome any problems they might be facing.

Personal advisors will be on hand at Newton Aycliffe One Point Hub, Newton Aycliffe Youth Centre, Burn Lane, Newton Aycliffe, County Durham. DL5 4HX on Thursday 20th August. This is a drop in session so there is no need to make an appointment.

The Help 4 Teens website www.help4teens.co.uk/start also includes lots of information for young people who want to develop their skills and get into a job, course or apprenticeship.
