Business awards event in for the long haul with logistics firm’s support

March 15th, 2022 Martin Walker Business 0 comments 0

A leading logistics firm which has seen sales grow to £20m in the last four years is the latest big name to back a local business awards event.

Stiller Warehousing and Distribution has joined the growing list of high-profile names to back Aycliffe Business Park’s Make Your Mark awards, in association with Husqvarna.

The glamorous awards ceremony – organised by Aycliffe Business Park Community (ABPC) – will be held at the stunning Redworth Hall Hotel on Friday, May 20.

Stiller is backing the awards by sponsoring the Service Business of the Year award – joining headline sponsors Husqvarna and category sponsors Gestamp, Ebac, Business Durham, Richardson Barberry, Think Kudos and Jacksons Law Firm.

Entries for Make Your Mark are available online here.

Stiller managing director Matthew Stiller – pictured above with Aycliffe Business Park Community board members Sarah Slaven and Martin Walker – said: “We are very pleased to sponsor an award at the forthcoming Make Your Mark awards.

“We have found past awards evenings to be an excellent way to get a small insight into how neighbours on Aycliffe Business Park are developing their companies.

“Hearing about shortlisted business’ new investments, new sales channels, new manufacturing techniques or new service offerings can be quite thought-provoking.

“Attending or sponsoring the Make Your Mark Awards are the best way of supporting the Aycliffe Business Park Community, which is already a well-established and well networked organisation in its own right.

“We are fortunate to have such an active business group that makes it very easy to reach into other businesses and business organisations in the area.

“It has excellent engagement with Business Durham (Durham County Council) as well as local companies and complementary organisations.

“The Aycliffe Business Park Community Board works on initiatives to improve the pastoral care of the business park by working with Durham County Council and local community groups. This is something that I feel is often overlooked but very important.

“It maintains Aycliffe Business Park as a place someone wants to work in or invest in.”

Stiller’s team has grown from 150 to 180 in the last four years, and Matthew Stiller added: “We have grown our sales in that time from £15m to £20m.

“Our team are busy launching a new e-commerce fulfilment service. We have over £3m of new replacement truck and trailer equipment being delivered over the next twelve months.

“The final phase of our main site’s property development will also begin later this year.

“Aycliffe Business Park has and continues to be an excellent place to do business.”

ABPC business development manager Martin Walker added: “We’re delighted to have another of the business park’s biggest names adding their support to the Make Your Mark awards.

“Having some of our largest employers – such as Stiller, Gestamp and Ebac – involved really adds to the credibility of the awards.

“Stiller are also great supporters of Aycliffe Business Park Community – their business development manager Thomas Prentice is a board member – and it’s great to see them at all our regular networking meetings.

“We’re delighted they recognise the work we’re doing and we’re grateful for their support.”

Any businesses interested in sponsoring the Make Your Mark awards, or would like more details, can either call Martin Walker on 01325 728024 or email [email protected].
