Police are appealing for information after a 13-year-old boy was knocked over by a mini-motorbike at the boating lake in Newton Aycliffe.

The incident occurred at around 3.55pm on Monday (November 28) near the small wooden footbridge close to Honister Place.

The boy was making his way from school on his pedal cycle when the rider of an off-road mini-moto drove along the footpath and collided with him, knocking the teenager from his bike.

The boy returned home and was taken to hospital by ambulance after being assessed by paramedics.
