BORO FAN PRAYING FOR REPEAT DREAM

A Newtonian hopes to live his childhood dream out for a second time in as many years, as he looks forward to playing in a charity football game at The Riverside, home of his beloved Middlesbrough FC.

Ryan Gillham, 23, first played in the specially arranged Finlay Cooper Fund game last season, alongside the likes of Teesside pop icon James Arthur, and Boro footballing legends Terry Cochrane and Neil Maddison.

The Finlay Cooper Fund charity works very closely with children’s causes in and around the region, such as Happy Hands (Teesside) and James’ Journey.

Back in 2011, Ryan lost his niece Olivia Rae Gillham who was stillborn, a tragedy which still haunts his family. Since then, Ryan has undertaken various charitable challenges, including the gruelling Coast2Coast cycle ride and of course last year’s football match.

You can help support Ryan’s cause by donating on his Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/Ryan-Gillham or finding the link on his Facebook account.

The charity game takes part of Sunday 24th May at Boro’s Riverside Stadium home. Anyone wishing to go along and support Ryan can keep an eye on Boro’s website for prices and kick off time confirmation.
